Sorry for neglecting this blog for so long but this last year has been a personal nightmare for me. Thanks for everyones kind words and hopefully now I'm ready to move forward. I have still sewing and have some new patterns to release. This is " O'Neil Park " my version of the Antique one in Annette Geros book. The patterns are available for $14.00. I'm also eager to get the Antique Chat group going again and will let everyone in on the dates very soon. I have also been asked to have this as an online group as well, we will see. |

This is all I can say about my lack of posts so far this year. What I had thought would be a quieter year for me has actually turned out to be the busiest ever. My youngest child started high school , the teenage daughter seemed to have settled down and the hubby was to be working away , which should have left me plenty of time for me and myself. Sewing , sewing and more sewing should have been the heading. As everyone would have heard we had some devistating bushfires up our way over Feb and it took us a long time to adjust to any reality ( not sure we have fully yet ! ) Thankyou to everyone who sent messages and checked on us during this time. My ( yelena ) house was under direct threat and we were evacuated for 4 days . You should have seen the mad woman ( me ) running around and trying to get 5 cats and 3 dogs into 1 car to evacuate. I wish I had the camera on me at the time. Hubby stayed to fight and we retreated to a friends house . On a brighter note, I have been busy designing and releasing new patterns. We had a stall at the AQC in Melbourne again this year and it was great to see so many familiar faces in the crowds. The new venue was stunning but hot , we survived with plenty of cold drinks . Left the camera at home so will leave you with some inspiring quilts I saw on ebay recently. I promise I will try and blog more often now that things have settled down again. Have a look and the groups and classes I have just updated in the class section on the menu.

Well Christmas is nearly apon us and I still havent done any shopping yet. I have never been this late getting going, but I at least know what I need to get. Sunday saw our last Antique study group for this year and we studied Indigo blues and Shirtings. Next year we will begin with Feed sacks and quilting styles from the 1930's, a fun way to get started in 2009.
Leonie and I wish all our readers and customers a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year. And if you cant be good then be careful ............ Merry Christmas |

Here is a photo of a new little quilt that I made and quilted last week. I have been inspired by many of the blogs that I read and this little one was a pleasure to make. I have named him " Reginald " after my dad. The little 9 patch blocks within the blocks only measure 1.5" square, tiny. I'm selling these under the name of " Sprinkle Quilts " and will be available in a kit that includes all the fabric for the quilt top and binding , precut into strips ready for piecing. There are 2 new designs coming in the next week or so. When released they will be listed in the kit section and the small projects section. |

The town has just held its annual Celtic festival this weekend and I think it has been a success. Festival weekends are always busy and this weekend has been no different. We were still making up bundles yesterday morning before we opened the door. The festival has lots of music playing, pipers playing and people dancing the jig. Here is a photo from the parade , arent they the cutest.
My Mum came up today to help with the rush and found some time to do a little more stitching on the applique quilt that she has made for my Aunty. It is a reproduction quilt and I will have more photos soon. My mums favourite colour combination is red and green. Mind you she has already planned the next one, this one has only taken her about 5 weeks to do. |

Yes, I have actually been quite productive and hope to get more done tonight. My husband has started working away and is only home on the weekends , which leaves me the week nights to amuse myself. I usually sew by hand at night because I like to sit with him in the Lounge room and listen to the telly. But with him away it doesnt matter now if I sit and the table and stitch up a storm on the machine. Last night I made 80 blocks WOW !!! For me that is great , me and the machine are not usually great friends. We ( Leonie and I ) are hoping that you are enjoying the changes we have made on the site and you like the fresh new look. The Taste of Beechworth packs are a great way to get small selection of fabrics . These have been named because they give you a samll example of the types of fabrics we stock in the shop. | Taste of Beechworth - 2 |

The other thing we have re-done is the Jam Jar rolls, we used to do these in a glass jar and they were called Jam Jar quilts. The little quilt was made with Yo Yos. We became unable to get the jars and had to come up with another way to sell them. Let us know if you want any different flavours. | Jam Roly Poly - YoYo pack |
